About Us

Massimo was born in Naples, Italy with an Italian mother and an Italian-American father. He moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico at age nine with his mother and sister following his  parents’ divorce. During his teen years he was heavily into hard rock and metal music and was completely given over to drinking and drugs. By age 20 he came to a place that sin wasn’t fun anymore. He had no hope, no purpose, no truth. He was miserable and no amount of alcohol, drugs, or parties could satisfy the emptiness he felt.

One day he received a flyer for a documentary on rock music, called “Hell's Bells,” from a Christian perspective at a local church. While watching the video, God opened his heart to see that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Massimo received God’s gift of salvation that night and his life changed instantly and dramatically. He had no more desire for partying and living in miserable sin. He had true joy and peace which lasts to this day.

Kimberly also had a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ. Her father died of leukemia when she was very young. She also was involved in the party lifestyle and, after one of her best friends died in a car accident, she began to attend a Bible study with some friends. After many debates and questions over a period of months, Kimberly, at age 22, received Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized along with several friends.

Massimo and Kimberly met at a church in Albuquerque and were married in 1995. Massimo sensed God’s call to missions in 1992 during a pastor’s conference he attended only nine months after his conversion. Kimberly and Massimo graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1998 with their B.A. degrees. While students at New Orleans Seminary they made their first trip to Italy with WorldVenture as short-term missionaries visiting and observing the ministries of WorldVenture missionaries in Rome and Naples.

In Los Angeles, California Massimo studied for two and a half years at The Master’s Seminary, where Dr. John MacArthur is founder and president. During their time in Southern California Massimo served as an intern in three churches in the areas of evangelism and young adult ministry and began a teaching web site called Frontline Ministries (frontlinemin.org). While in Los Angeles, Kimberly served as the Client Services Director for the Pregnancy Resource Center of the San Fernando Valley.

In 2003, Massimo accepted a call to serve full-time at Grace Church of Napa Valley in Napa, California in evangelism, assimilation, and young adult ministries. After serving there for three and a half years, which yielded a great amount of ministry experience, Massimo decided to complete his Master of Divinity degree at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky graduating in 2009.

Today Massimo and Kimberly live with their three children (Aemilia 6, Gianna 4, Loris 1) in Española, New Mexico where Massimo serves as Pastor of First Baptist Church of Española (fbcespanola.com).
